3 Ways To Make Monday Awesome

It’s Sunday night. Your heels are digging in, time is flying by faster than it has all week. You know what’s coming. The dreadful day that begins with M. The day where regiment and stress return and gone are the idyllic and freeing hours of Saturday and Sunday. MONDAY.

I promise you, Monday does not always have to be the enemy. Want to carry over the carefree spirit and fun of your weekend? With a little planning, here are 3 things I’ve tried that may just make your Monday AWESOME!

  1. Wake up early and get centered. Do your favorite workout. Treat yourself to your favorite healthy breakfast afterwards. Meditate, set your intention for the week, write your goals. Here are two of my favorite weekly planners (yes, writing things down the old-school way works!):

    • Passion Planner - Love, love, LOVE their “Pay-It-Forward" model! You can sponsor a planner for someone in need who cannot afford one. Plus, the covers are stunning! You won’t be embarrassed to carry this one around.

    • Inner Guide Planner - This planner is spiral-bound, thus making it easy to write your notes. You will also find beautiful inspirational quotes and a section for setting life goals and focusing on your big picture.

  2. Get your hardest thing done first thing Monday morning. Think about your most difficult task you need to get done and make completing it your first priority. Distractions arise and can quickly veer you away from your To-Do list if you aren’t mindful of how you are spending your time, which is your most precious asset. If you need to block your calendar the week before, do it. Try making this a weekly practice.

  3. Plan a fun evening activity. Give yourself something to look forward to at the end of the day. Mondays are great days for massages or mani/pedis as spas are less busy. Or, attend a fun Meetup, get outside, or intentionally set aside time to spend with your family, friends, or pet(s).

How do you make your Mondays AWESOME? What are your rituals or activities you have tried to kick start  your week on the right foot?
